Abstract:
To provide a method for preparing a stable complex comprising a ligand and a cationic liposome encapsulating a therapeutic or diagnostic agent.
The method for preparing the stable cell-targeting complex comprising the ligand and the cationic liposome encapsulating the therapeutic or diagnostic agent includes (a) combining the complex with a solution comprising a stabilizing amount of sucrose and (b) lyophilizing the resultant solution to obtain a lyophilized preparation; wherein, upon reconstitution, the preparation retains at least about 80% of its pre-lyophilization activity.
