Title:
METHOD OF INCREASING ADHESION BETWEEN ASPHALT AND AGGREGATE IN ANIONIC BITUMEN EMULSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3145337
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate by adding a specific adhesion promoter of a specific polyamideamine to an anionic bitumen emulsion.
SOLUTION: (A) A copolymer (20-80wt.%) prepared by reaction of (i) 99-1wt.% of a monomer selected from the group consisting of α-methylstyrene, styrene and their combination and (ii) 1-99wt.% of a monomer selected from (meth)acrylic acid, alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid and their combination and (B) 80-20wt.% of a polyamine are subjected to polyamideamine condensation reaction and the product is used as an adhesion promoter. This promoter is added to an anionic bitumen (asphalt) emulsion whereby the adhesion to an anionic bitumen (asphalt) enmulsion whereby the adhesion between the asphalt and the aggregate is increased.
