PURPOSE: To join metallic plates with sufficient joining strength even when joining the metallic plate of materials inferior in ductility.

CONSTITUTION: In a stripper 33 with the sliding hole 36 of a punch 38 provided, an inserting hole 34 is formed on its upper surface, and a cylindrical heater 40 for heating the stripper 33 is inserted in the inserting hole 34. A heat insulating material 42 is inserted in the inner periphery of the heater 40. In the stripper 3, a temperature sensor 51 to be used for controlling the heating temperature of the stripper 33 is housed. When aluminum plates A and B to be joined are held between the stripper 33 and the sweep guard 18 of a die device 11, only a peripheral part of drawing around a drawing hole 27 is mainly heated by the heat of the stripper 33. Successively, drawing is performed by the advance of the punch 38. However, since the peripheral part of drawing is heated and its ductility is enhanced, satisfactory drawing is performed without occurrence of shearing and rupture in the part.
