PURPOSE: To efficiently perform lamination rolling of thin strips by installing respective two winders and rewinders before and behind a reversible mill, supplying strips from respective winders and rewinders, lapping the strips on each other by deflector rolls, and then winding the strips on a winder and a rewinder after rolling.
CONSTITUTION: Two or more continuous rolling passes are performed by a reversible mill 5 provided with winders 1, 2 and rewinders 3, 4 before and behind the mill, respectively. Strips A, B are guided to eliminate dislocations in the lateral direction by couples of upper and lower deflector rolls 11, 12, 17, 18; or side trimming is preformed in at least one pass. Therefore, the strips A, B are rolled under a condition in which the edges of the strips A, B are equalized to each other and the strips A, B lapped on each other. As the result, chips caused by cut or peeled edges are not bitten by an intermediate roll and no chip is wound on a rolling roll. Respective thickness of the strips A, B are made to be prescribed values because respective tensions of the strips A, B are independently adjustable.
