Title:
METHOD FOR LAYING OPTICAL FIBER CABLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03276104
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently lay the cable by fitting a front end parachute and intermediate parachutes to the cable and feeding pressure air into a pipe so as to directly pull an optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION:The top and parachute 1 and the intermediate parachutes 2 are fitted by fitting means 4 to the optical fiber cable 3. The top end parachute 1 has a seat which opens to a hemispherical shape when the same force as the force on an umbrella structure is applied thereon. The intermediate parachutes 2 are provided with a circular hole at the center of the top end of the top end parachute 1 and are so designed that the air can flow in this hole. The respective parachutes bear the full wind when the compressed air is blown into a pipeline 5 at the time of laying the cable. The parachutes are then moved by the wind pressure and the cable 3 is directly pulled and laid. The operation to pass a rope, etc., is thereby eliminated and the efficient laying is executed.
