Abstract:
1. A method of producing photographic halftone images by dot-wise exposure onto a heavy-duty photo-sensitive material by means of a beam of light having an intensity distribution which decreases from the interior outward and of which the diameter is controlled by intensity control according to the measured or stored brightness values of an original picture for generating a grid pattern which is true in tone value, characterised in that the light beam is generated by a cathode ray tube of which the screen is focused sharply onto the photo-sensitive material by a lens.
