Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing bonded magnet with which a bonded magnet having superior magnetic characteristics can be manufactured, and to provide the bonded magnet.
SOLUTION: The bonded magnet is manufactured, by kneading magnet powder with a material containing a binder and molding the kneaded product. The kneading is performed, while the magnet powder is pulverized, so that the mean particle diameter of the powder after kneading becomes smaller than that of the powder before kneading. It is preferable that the magnet powder be pulverized to satisfy the relation 0.1≤D1/D0≤0.9 (where D0 (μm) and D1 (μm) respectively denotes the mean particle diameters of the powder before and after kneading). It is also preferable that the mean particle diameter D0 be adjust before kneading to 10-1,200 μm and the mean particle diameter D1 after kneading to 1-500 μm. In addition, it is also preferable that the kneading be conducted in an inert gas atmosphere and that an antioxidant be mixed in the material.
