Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method of a cold cathode discharge tube capable of manufacturing the cold cathode discharge tube for preventing a snaking phenomenon by surely removing impure gas in a glass bulb, and the cold cathode discharge tube.

One end opening of the glass bulb 1 is sealed by one main electrode 3a for installing bead glass 2a. After loosely inserting and positioning the other main electrode 3b for installing bead glass 2b in a prescribed position in the glass bulb, a sealing bead 22 is loosely inserted and positioned in the other end part of the glass bulb in a state of positioning an impure gas adsorbent 21 in the glass bulb. After exhausting internal gas between a pair of main electrodes from the other end opening, rare gas is filled in the glass bulb, and the other end opening is sealed by welding the sealing bead and the other end part of the glass bulb. After adsorbing the impure gas remaining in the glass bulb by the impure gas adsorbent, the other main electrode is sealed by welding the glass bulb and the bead glass installed on the other main electrode.
