Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing a dialyzer for treating blood that elutes only little a hydrophilic polymer, is lightweight and easy to handle and a semipermeable membrane for treating blood suited thereto, and a method of sterilization.

In a method of manufacturing a dialyzer storing a semipermeable membrane containing a hydrophilic polymer and a hydrophobic polymer as components, the semipermeable membrane is made to hold water accounting for 100 to 600% of the self-weight of the membrane and the dialyzer is internally given an atmosphere of inert gas and then irradiated with gamma radiation. A method of sterilization of a dialyzer storing a hydrophilic polymer and a hydrophobic polymer as components, the dialyzer is made to hold water accounting for 100 to 600% of the self-weight and then internally given an atmosphere of inert gas and then irradiated with gamma radiation.
