Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a new mold used for an investment precise casting method.
SOLUTION: A thin shell-type molding layer is formed by dipping a wax pattern into slurry containing soda silicate or calcium silicate or a mixture thereof as a binder and drawing up this and sizing. This molding layer is quickly hardened by reacting the molding layer with carbon dioxide gas, and process from this dipping into the slurry to the reaction with the carbon dioxide gas, is repeated a prescribed number of times (ordinarily, seven times) to manufacture the mold.
