Abstract:
To provide a method for economically manufacturing an isobutylene polymer having a good molecular weight distribution by satisfying mixing performance necessary for keeping catalyst dispersion and heat exchange with a small mixing power and decreasing a load on a refrigerator to increase an energy efficiency in polymerizing an isobutylene monomer using an initiator and a catalyst.
There is used a cylindrical mixing vessel in the central portion of which a rotary mixing axis having broad width plate blades is rotatably mounted from outside the vessel in polymerizing an isobutylene monomer in the mixing vessel using an aromatic-based initiator and a catalyst.
