To improve wear resistance, and to form oil basins for lubrication by hardening a base stock ring after performing a heat treatment to the rolled base stock ring, improving the wear property of a surface by gas nitriding after aging treatment, and forming lots of recesses for oil basin on the surface of the base stock ring after the nitriding treatment.

By winding the base stock ring 1 formed to a prescribed size by a special steel on a pair of rollers 2, 3, by pushing a roller 4 for pressing against the roller 3 with a prescribed force F, and by rotating the roller 2 while pulling the roller 2 with a prescribed force in a direction separating from the roller 3, cold rolling is performed to the base stock ring 1. Next, the heat treatment is executed to the rolled base stock ring 1 to harden the base stock ring. After this process, a gas nitriding treatment is executed improve the wear property of the surface of the base stock ring after ageing treatment. By housing the base stock ring 1 after the nitriding treatment, abrasive 5 and water in a cylinder type rotary container 6, and by rotating this container 6 around a horizontal axis, lots of recesses are formed by scratching the surface of the base stock ring 1.
