To provide a method for manufacturing a reflector using a thermosetting resin composition for reflecting light that has sufficiently high mold releasability upon transfer molding, excels in continuous moldability, and can form a cured product excellent in optical characteristics necessary for a substrate for mounting an optical semiconductor element.
The method for manufacturing the reflector includes a process of molding the thermosetting resin composition for reflecting light by transfer molding, and forming the reflector comprising the cured product of the thermosetting resin composition, wherein the thermosetting resin composition contains (A) an epoxy resin, (B) a curing agent, (C) a curing catalyst and (D) a white pigment, and at least one of (A) the epoxy resin and (B) the curing agent contains a compound that has an organosiloxane backbone.
