Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form, with sufficient thickness, a metallic layer having excellent corrosion resistance and durability on the inner-wall surface of a thin tube.
SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the thin tube, an internal tube 2 of pure gold or gold alloy is inserted into a tubular body 10 having an outer diameter of about 1,000 μm after roughening the inner-wall surface 11 of the tubular body 10. The internal tube 2 is expanded by inserting a core bar 4 of sintered hard metal into the internal tube 2 and the diameter is slightly reduced by inserting the outer periphery of the tubular body 10 into a drawing tool 5. Thus, the outer periphery of the internal tube 2 is pressurized and closely adhered to the roughened inner-wall face 11 of the tubular body 10, and a metal layer is formed on the inner-wall surface 11 of the tubular body 10 with the internal tube 2. Subsequently, the inner-wall surface 21 of the internal tube 2 is worked into a mirror surface by applying vibration from the outside after charging hyperfine abrasive particles 8 in the thin tube 1.
