Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure the change of light output in the screening of an optical data link with good accuracy, by directly measuring the light output of a light emitting element by a light receiving element having a light receiving area larger than the opening part of a receptacle. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving element holder 24 is held in the state mounted to a receptacle 12 and the initial light output value of an optical data link 10 is preliminarily measured. Then, the light receiving element holder 24 is detached and, for example, the stress such as the driving current of a light emitting element 14 is applied to the optical data link 10 for a predetermined time. Finally, the light receiving element holder 24 is again mounted to the receptacle 12 and the light output value measured in this state is compared with the initial light output value and, when the difference between both values is a predetermined level or more, an inferior product is discriminated. Since this measuring method is constituted so that the output light of the light emitting element 14 is directly received by a light receiving element 30, the connection loss generated by the use of an optical fiber is excluded. Therefore, the irregularity of a measured value generated by the connection loss is eliminated. As a result, the change of light output can be measured with good accuracy.
