Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the width of the inner lead of a lead frame or the spacing of the inner leads.
SOLUTION: In this method, a lead frame whose contour is formed in a state in which the tips of inner leads are integrally jointed to each other is photographed by photographing means, and then the obtained image data is processed by imageprocessing means to measure the width of the inner lead of the lead frame or the spacing of the inner leads. In this regard, a positioning mark is made at the joint of the tips of the inner leads of the lead frame and then the positioning mark and the measuring point of the lead frame are photographed in the same field of view by the photographing means to obtain image data. The image data obtained is processed by the image-processing means to recognize the position of the positioning mark in the processed image data, whereby the desired measuring position of the lead frame is identified by the recognized positioning mark, and then the width of the inner lead of the lead frame or the spacing of the inner leads is determined at a specified measuring position.
