Title:
METHOD OF MEASURING STRAIN IN ELECTRIC WIRE USING TWO SHEETS OF DISKS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3845293
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring strains in electric wire that can measure the absolute values of strains even in an existing electric wire.
SOLUTION: Two sheets of disks 1a, 1b are mutually opposed with a prescribed space, arranged to penetrated with the electric wire 2, and fixed to the wire 2. Three points are determined on the two sheets of disks 1a, 1b (or around them), the respective points are arranged with 120° of space, the two disks 1a, 1b are opposed with 60° of torsion angle. When external force is applied onto the electric wire to generate elongation and bending, the disks 1a, 1b are displaced relatively. A displacement amount is measured by a differential transformer or the like, a relative displacement, inclination and rotation of the disks 1a, 1b are found geometrically, and the strain in the electric wire is found based thereon. When only bending of the electric wire is enough to be found, measurement of the distances among the three or four points in the disks 1a, 1b are enough for it.
