CONSTITUTION: When only a light source 32 is flashed, a recording is executed only on the central part of a groove 2a by a light beam spot 36. Further, when a light source 31 or a light source 33 is driven, a groove end bit is formed on the inclined part 2c or 2b of the groove by the light beam spot 35 or 37. In this case, according to modulating circuits 39, 40 overcoming the problem of the successive bits by biasing to one side, the light sources 31, 33 may be driven. The control thereof is executed by a control circuit 41. In such a device, either one of the light sources 31, 32 or 33 is selected and driven according to an information recording signal, thereby, a recording pattern can be formed.
