Title:
METHOD FOR OPENING NOZZLE FOR POURING MOLTEN METAL AND OPENING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11151570
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To smoothly flow out a welded metal by forcedly breaking sintered layer of refractory sand filled in a molten metal discharging nozzle hole fitted to the bottom part of a ladle and opening the nozzle for pouring the molten metal.

An inert gas supplying device 11 for press-feeding the inert gas at 2-10 kg/cm2 G into the nozzle hole, is provided. Then, the inert gas 12 at 2-10 kg/cm2 G is blown into the inner part of the nozzle 3 filled with the refractory sand 9 and successively, the molten metal 8 is flowed out from the nozzle 3 with the gravity. Therefore, since the opening ratio of the molten metal pouring nozzle at the bottom part of the ladle can always be kept to 100%, an oxygen washing work can be eliminated and the deterioration of steel quality caused by the oxygen washing is prevented and the yield of a cast slab is improved.
