Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the teaching time by arranging a spacer member for differential thickness on a member to be welded and detecting the spacer member surface by a welding torch to carry out a work program.

CONSTITUTION: Teaching to detect the surface of a member 2A having the maximum thickness among members to be welded by a welding torch 4 of specified wire 4a extension is carried out. Afterward, the welding position is taught to prepare the work program. In carrying out the work program, when a member 2B to be welded is not the member 2A having the maximum thickness, a spacer member 5 having the differential thickness between the member 2B and the member 2A having the maximum thickness is arranged on a place corresponding to the member surface detection position by the welding torch 4 on the member 2B surface. The surface of the spacer member 5 is detected by the welding torch 4 to carry out the work program. By this method, the members having the different thickness can be welded.
