Abstract:
PURPOSE: To uniformly remove a tough scale layer formed on the surface of a Ti material by pickling it with a simple equipment while satisfactorily maintaining the shape and surface roughness of the Ti material.
CONSTITUTION: A Ti material is pickled by immersion in an aq. soln. contg. 0.2-2.0mol/l fluorine ions (F-), 1.0-7.0mol/l chlorine ions (Cl-) and 0.05-8.0mol/l ammonium ions (NH4+) at ≥50°C or by spraying with the soln. to remove scale formed on the surface of the Ti material.
