Title:
METHOD AND PLANT FOR MAKING COMBUSTIBLE GAS FROM SUPPLY RICH IN ORGANIC MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001098283
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an apparatus and method for making a combustible gas with a high calorific value which contains reduced amounts of residual tar and volatile alkali salts from a supply rich in organic materials such as biomass.

A method comprises pyrolysis of a supply at 300-900°C under a pressure close to the atmospheric pressure, sending a solid product generated by the pyrolisys to a burning means, and using the heat generated by the burning for pyrolysis. The method further comprises thermal cracking of the pyrolyzed gas, conducting the pyrolysis and the thermal cracking in two different means, controlling the pyrolysis temperature and the thermal cracking temperature in a completely independent way, and conducting thermal cracking of the whole pyrolyzed gas between 800 and 1,200°C in the complete absence of air, subsequent to the pyrolysis.
