Abstract:

To provide a method of an improved plating pretreatment for fiber, in which the conventional etching processing is eliminated by using a supercritical fluid or subcritical fluid and a metallic catalyst for plating is deposited effectively on a non-metallic fiber material with a simplified process; a method for manufacturing a plated fiber using the above method; and a method for manufacturing the fiber having a uniform metallic film, a metallic oxide film, or a metallic sulfide film directly formed on the surface of non-metallic fiber using a supercritical or subcritical fluid, without performing an electroless plating process.

The method of plating pretreatment for polymeric-fiber comprises: a first step in which a polymeric fiber material forming a polymeric fiber yarn wound into a roll without using a core or a porous tube as the core is immersed in a supercritical fluid or subcritical fluid containing an organometallic complex to provide the organometallic complex to the surface of the polymer fiber; and a second step in which the organometallic complex adherent to the polymeric-fiber surface is reduced and activated.
