To obtain a method for rapidly and easily positioning a catheter inserted into a vessel.
This method includes a process of injecting a contrast medium into the vessel and generating the three-dimensional image of the vessel having the contrast medium. The method includes a process that the three-dimensional image is formed by the many first discrete images of the vessel to be photographed from different photographing directions by using X-ray devices 2, 3 at this time and that the second discrete images of the vessel having the catheter inserted into the vessel are photographed from the specific photographing direction by using the X-ray devices. The method includes a process of selecting the specific first discrete images of which the photographing direction is best aligned as far as possible to the photographing direction of the second discrete images photographed in the process (b) and further the method includes a process of combining these selected first discrete images and the photographed second discrete images as the combination images of the vessel having the catheter inserted therein. The combined images are so displayed that the position of the catheter in the vessel may be determined.
