Abstract:
To save a power in a portable telephone set having a liquid crystal display(LCD) part.
In the portable telephone set having the LCD part, in a non- operation waiting state at least, the entire LCD part is displayed in a simplified display mode. In this simplified display mode, the entire LCD part is driven while decreasing the number of gradations or lowering a liquid crystal driving voltage. Under such control, the power consumption of the LCD part can be reduced in the non-operation waiting state and necessary display such as time display or display of remaining battery capacity, on the other hand, is displayed readably.
