PURPOSE: To provide a container for preservation capable of maintaining a fresh state of vegetables and arranged flowers such as a vegetable, a fruit or a cut flower in a refrigerated state for a long period.

CONSTITUTION: This method for preserving vegetables and flower arrangements is to house the vegetables or arranged flowers in a hermetically closed container having the inner wall surfaces covered with zinc and preserve the vegetables or arranged flowers in a refrigerated state at 6-10°C. The container (A) for the preservation is provided by attaching a hermetically closable lid 3 to an opening for taking in and out the materials housed in the hermetically closed container (A) having the inner wall surfaces covered with the zinc.
