To provide a method for processing an artificial cellulose fiber having good hand feeling with little reduction of strengths and excellent dye-affinity in super dark colors, high stress resistance together with excellent water- retaining and absorbing properties and hand feeling at an advantageous cost.

This method (1) for processing an artificial cellulose fiber or a fabric containing the same is to add a third ingredient comprising an epoxy compound, an acid catalyst and a third ingredient comprising at least one species selected from propylene glycol or its polymers, aliphatic polyols, reducing saccharides, disaccharides and monosaccharides and subsequently processing the fabric by heating. The process (2) for processing the artificial cellulose fiber or a fabric containing the same is to rub the fabric in a liquid flow after the aforesaid heat processing.
