Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a 6-haloalkylnicotinic acid compound useful as an intermediate for agrochemicals or medicaments.
This method for producing a 2-halogeno-6-haloalkylnicotinic acid compound of the general formula (II) (R is an ester-forming residue, H or Li atom; Y is a haloalkyl; and Hal is a halogen atom) is characterized by comprising reacting a compound of the general formula (I) (Y and Hal are each the same as mentioned above) with carbon dioxide in the presence of a lithium dialkylamide and a solvent.
