Abstract:
To provide a method for producing an aliphatic monoolefin methanol, by which aluminum in a reducing agent can efficiently be separated and removed from a reaction mixture solution containing the aliphatic monoolefin methanol and obtained by reducing an aliphatic monoolefin carboxylic acid or its ester as a raw material.
This method for producing the aliphatic monoolefin methanol is characterized by reducing the aliphatic monoolefin carboxylic acid or its ester with a sodium hydride-aluminum alkoxide, neutralizing the obtained reaction mixture solution with a sulfuric acid aqueous solution having a concentration of 20 to 60 wt. %, and then separating and removing the aluminum.
