To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing an alkyl-substituted aryl compound by using an arylhydrazine as a raw material.
The method for producing the alkyl-substituted aryl compound comprises reacting an arylhydrazine with a substituted olefin (excluding substituted olefins having a leaving group at an allyl group) and an oxidizing agent. According to the method, the alkyl-substituted aryl compound can readily be obtained, and an inexpensive and readily handleable oxygen-containing gas such as hydrogen peroxide producing harmless water after the reaction or air can be used as the oxidizing agent, and the alkyl-substituted aryl compound can be obtained in good yield by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a Va group element metal or its compound, a VIa group element metal or its compound, a VIIa group element metal or its compound or a VIIIa group element metal or its compound. As a result, the production method is industrially advantageous.
