Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a salt-free amphoteric propionate surfactant.
The method for producing the improved salt-free amphoteric propionate surfactant includes reacting an imidazoline compound with a mixture of acrylic acid and sodium acrylate in an aqueous medium at high temperatures, wherein acrylic acid and sodium acrylate are blended as the mixture in a molar ratio ranging from 1:6 to 1:3 of each of them.
