Abstract:
To provide a new method for the production of an aromatic ketone.
An aromatic ketone is produced by reacting an aromatic compound with an acylating agent in the presence of a mesoporous material. A regular mesoporous silica can be used as the mesoporous material. A monomethoxybenzene (anisole) or its derivative can be used as the aromatic compound, and an acid anhydride or an acid halide can be used as the acylating agent.
