To provide a method for producing an asphalt mixture, by which an effect of improving flow resistance similar to an asphalt rubber is obtained without causing problems in storage of a binder, and to provide an asphalt mixture.

This invention relates to the method for producing an asphalt mixture containing asphalt and aggregate. After heating and mixing asphalt and aggregate, vulcanized rubber powder is added and mixed into the obtained mixture of the asphalt and the aggregate, and then the mixture is stored while heating. The temperature during the heated storage is preferably in a range from 150 to 180C, and the time period of heated storage is preferably in a range from 0.5 to 6 hours.
