Abstract:

To provide a method for industrially producing a cyclohexene derivative such as 2-cyclohexen-1-ol.

This method for producing a cyclohexene derivative of general formula I comprises performing metathesis reaction of an octadiene derivative of general formula II in the presence of a ruthenium complex coordinated with an imidazolidene compound. (X is hydroxyl, an alkoxy, an acyloxy or an aryloxy).
