Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a halogen-substituted aromatic compound, by which an aromatic compound can efficiently be halogenated with a solvent used instead of a halogenated methane.

This method for producing the halogen-substituted aromatic compound, comprising reacting an aromatic compound with a halogenating agent, is characterized by comprising an aromatic compound solution-preparing process for adding the aromatic compound to a Cl-free solvent to an aromatic compound solution, a halogenating agent solution-preparing process for adding the halogenating agent to the Cl-free solvent to prepare a halogenating agent solution, and a reaction process for mixing the aromatic compound solution with the aromatic compound solution to react the aromatic compound with the halogenating agent. The solvent is preferably an ether-based dioxane.
