Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently producing an α-halohydrin compound without strictly controlling a water content in a reaction system and using hydrogen as a reducing agent.
An α-haloketone compound is reduced with a primary alcohol compound or a secondary alcohol compound by using a solid oxide such as silica-alumina as a catalyst to produce an α-halohydrin compound.
