PURPOSE: To obtain the subject product not showing reduction in quality even with elapse of long period, having excellent water permeation and swelling properties, immediately drinkable only by pouring warm water or cold water, having a good flavor by pressurizing powder of a tea such as green tea.
CONSTITUTION: Powder of a tea such as green tea or a (semi)fermented tea is pressurized under 50-1,500kg/cm2, preferably 100-600kg/cm2 so that density of the tea is increased to be easily sedimented in water and permeability and dispersibility thereof with warm water or cold water are improved. In the pressurizing of tea, powder of the tea is preferably mixed with a water-soluble dispersion auxiliary such as dextrins or CMC to improve its swelling properties and dispersibility. Pressurizing is preferably slowly carried out by consuming time to a certain extent.
