To provide a production method by which, when photosemiconductor particles each consisting of a base made of a metal compound photosemiconductor and a ceramic fixed on at least part of the surface thereof is produced by a liquid phase method, solid-liquid separation is easily carried out and the effect of the resulting photosemiconductor particles as a photosemiconductor is not affected.
A mixed fluid, containing the base with the ceramic or a precursor thereof fixed on at least part of the surface thereof and water, is prepared, and a coagulant is added to the mixed fluid and stirred to coagulate solid matter in the form of coarse particles. The solid matter in the form of coarse particles is recovered by solid-liquid separation treatment, and the resulting solid matter is heated to decompose the coagulant contained in the solid matter.
