To provide a method for producing an unsaturated primary alcohol, by which the unsaturated primary alcohol can profitably be obtained from an unsaturated secondary alcohol as a raw material.

This method for producing the unsaturated primary alcohol is characterized by (A) isomerizing the unsaturated secondary alcohol in the presence of an inorganic rhenium oxide carried on an inorganic carrier at a temperature of 0 to 100°C to synthesize the unsaturated primary alcohol, (B) separating the inorganic rhenium oxide carried on the inorganic carrier from the reaction mixture liquid obtained in the process (A), (C) distilling the mixture liquid obtained in the process (B) to separate and obtain the unsaturated secondary alcohol and the unsaturated primary alcohol from the mixture liquid, and (D) circulating the inorganic rhenium oxide carried on the inorganic carrier and separated in the process (B) and the unsaturated secondary alcohol separated and obtained in the process (C) to the process (A).
