To provide a method related to a synergistic combination of immunostimulatory CpG oligonucleotides and immunopotentiating cytokines.

A method of stimulating an immune response uses the synergistic combination of compounds and products related thereto. In one aspect, this is the method for stimulating the immune response in a subject. The method includes the steps of administering to the subject exposed to an antigen, an effective amount for inducing a synergistic antigen specific immune response of the immunopotentiating cytokine and the immunostimulatory CpG oligonucleotide having a sequence including at least the formula: 5'X1CGX23' (wherein the oligonucleotide includes at least 8 nucleotides; C and G are unmethylated; and X1 and X2 include the steps being nucleotides).
