Abstract:
To provide a method for producing 1,3-adamantanediol with high yield and purity, which is an important and functional material such as heat resistant polymer, and an electronic material such as a resist material for a semiconductor.
The method for producing the 1,3-adamantanediol comprises obtaining a mixture of dihalogenated adamantanes by a reaction such as reacting adamantane with a halosulfonic acid, and then reacts the mixture of dihalogenated adamantanes with water in the presence of pyridine.
