Abstract:

To provide the subject method excellent in high selectivity and high usability as well owing to both low energy cost and reduced deposits.

This method comprises making a thermal after-treatment of the cracked products from acid catalytic cracking of cumene hydroperoxide into phenol and acetone by heating the cracked products in a reactor; wherein it is characterized to make use of at least the heat of reaction in an exothermic reaction proceeding in the reactor in order to heating the cracked products.
