Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004182848
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for effectively regulating the content of benzyl alcohol in phenethyl alcohol for perfume by using only a simple device without requiring a complicated device and operation.

The method for regulating the content of the benzyl alcohol in the phenethyl alcohol for the perfume involves the following extractive distillation step and extraction step, and regulates the content of the benzyl alcohol which is an impurity contained in the phenethyl alcohol of the product by changing a separation condition of the benzyl alcohol in the extractive distillation step by regulating the concentration of water contained in a used extraction solvent (A): the extractive distillation step is for carrying out the extractive distillation of the crude β-phenethyl alcohol by using the extraction solvent (A); and the extraction step is for purifying the extraction solvent (A) used in the extractive distillation step by extraction by using another extraction solvent (B).
