PURPOSE: To make possible to effectively remove burrs, by pressing a disk-like or cylindrical grinding member made of soft materials such as, for example, rubber added therein with abrasive materials, against a workpiece in the shearing direction thereof, and by subjecting the grinding member to stroke motion.
CONSTITUTION: An abrasive material C such as, for example, abrasive particle or diamond chips are mixed into thermoplastic rubber and a synthetic resin group mold compound, and the thus obtained material is molded into a disc-like grinding member G. A workpiece W is set on a table T with the surface thereof having burrs (b) thereon being faced upward, and the grinding member G is pressed against the workpiece W while the attaching shaft S of the grinding member G is subjected to repetition of vertical motion to grind off the burrs (b). It is preferable to apply swing motion and rotary motion to the grinding member G when the other part of the workpiece is ground. Further, it is also preferable to form jet holes for jetting liquid, in the lower surface of the grinding member, entirely thereover, so that the efficiency of deburring may be enhanced and as well it is possible to prevent the other part of the workpiece from being scratched.
