To provide a method for repairing a wear resistant member by which, when defect such as wear and a crack of the wear resistant member is to be repaired, the repair is effectively performed to maintain high quality.
When a defect part 3 occurs at a wear resistant part 2 to be deposited on a base material 1, in the defective part 3 in the wear resistant part 2, a recessed part with a depth smaller than the depth of the defective part 3 is formed, a repair material 4 composed of a mixture of a brazing filler metal 7 composed of a metallic material and at least one or more kinds of wear resistant material powders 8 having a melting point higher than the brazing filler metal 7 is deposited on the defective part 3 and the recessed part; the wear resistant part 2 is heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of the brazing filler metal 7 and lower than the melting point of the wear resistant material powders 8; and, while retaining to either a locally inert gas atmosphere or a vacuum, the brazing filler metal 7 is melted into the defective part 3 and the recessed part.
