Title:
METHOD FOR RESTORING PAINTING AND DEVICE FOR RESTORING PAINTING USING THE METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000289396
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To easily and effectively restore peeled or exfoliated paintings to their original state.

Paintings to be restored to their original state are cooled and fused glue water is injected into a space between the peeled or exfoliated pigment layer of the cooled painting and paper used for this method. Further, the glue water is gelled so as not to allow its excessive spread. Next, the surface of the painting is heated and in this case, the peeled or exfoliated pigment layer is dampened with water prior to heating or while being heated to make the layer soft. After the gel is entirely fused or before it is fused following the softening of the pigment layer, a perpendicular pressure is applied to the peeled or the exfoliated spot of the painting. After that, the painting is naturally dried under the applied pressure to glue the peeled pigment layer to the paper.
