PURPOSE: To enable the reuse of a tundish and a nozzle, etc., for continuous casting by jetting the mixed gas of oxygen gas and inert gas to the solidified and stuck metal, utilizing exothermic heat caused by oxidation of the metal to melt the metal and blowing off with the gas jet to remove the solidified and stuck metal.

CONSTITUTION: In a continuous casting of a stainless steel, after casting three charges in ladles and use of tundish 1 is once stopped and immediately, by injecting the mixed gas 8 of the oxygen gas and argon gas from the center hole of a stopper, the metal solidified and stuck in the tundish nozzle 2 and immersion nozzle 3 are melted by the exothermic heat caused by the oxidation of metal and blown off with the gas jet. The tundish 1 after cleaning in such a way, can be used again to continuous casting while the tundish does not cool. Further, by executing the cleaning of the tundish at every time of three charges in the continuous casting, the tundish and the nozzle can be repeatedly used till the repairing of lining refractory in the tundish and change of the nozzle.
