Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction, etc., of off-gage and to obtain the improvement of the energy saving and the yield by calculating the rolling load with the specific equation on the strip rolling by controlling with the electric computer.

CONSTITUTION: The calculation of the rolling load R is executed with the equation I. In the equation, A0, A1: the sectional area of the material to be rolled before and after rolling, αR: the corresponding taper angle, μ, θ: the dynamic frictional coefficient and the dynamic frictional angle, μ=tanθ, Km: the average deformation resistance of the material to be rolled, σγ: the relative slip shearing stress, ρ: the density of material to be rolled, g: the gravity acceleration, V0, V1: the moving velocity of the material to be rolled before and after rolling. Therefore, the exact mill set-up calculation can be accurately executed, the reduction, etc., of off-gage can be achieved and the yield is improved.
