To provide a method for separating coating resin of a carrier surely removing the coating resin of the carrier by a method with a little environmental impact without deteriorating the characteristics of a core material and capable of recycling the core material.
The method for treating an electrophotographic carrier includes to treat the electrophotographic carrier comprising at least a core material and a coating resin, with supercritical pure water that is formed by bringing pure water or ultrapure water of electric conductivity at (25°C) of 1.00 μS.cm or less into a supercritical state, so that the coating resin is separated from the core material. This method for separating the coating resin of the electrophotographic carrier includes: fluidizing or/and moving the carrier and the supercritical water by fluidizing or/and moving means in the treatment; and washing and separating acquired coating resin residuals on the core material with water including microbubbles or nanobubbles.
