Abstract:
To separate a green and sand mold from a raw casting without generating bruises on the raw casting.
The green sand mold without flasks, in which molten metal is already poured, is air-tightly surrounded. The pressure in the inner part of a structural body air-tightly surrounding the green sand mold is raised and boiling point of moisture is raised to develop the moisture at ≥100°C in a moisture condensed layer formed at the surroundings of the as-cast material in the green sand mold. The boiling point of the moisture is lowered by lowering the pressure in the structural body, and the moisture in the moisture condensed layer is boiled and the green sand mold is disintegrated and separated from the as-cast product.
